Indeed some of the MM’s may have never been to a meeting where music is played. This is a real shame given the fact the music can really add to the atmosphere and experience of any Lodge meeting.
Therefore this is a simple set of instructions and guidelines (including the list of material / equipment needed) on how a to create a virtual organist so that everyone has the opportunity to once again enjoy and savour music during our ceremonies. With the technology available today you no longer need to be able to play the organ to enjoy the music of freemasonry. All you need is a laptop, MP3 player or even just a CD player. Hi, I am also acutely aware of the lack of “Lodge Organists” around these days, and I also considered doing much of what is suggested above, but felt that it was rather cumbersome, particularly for the “untrained” and as such I decided to approach a software company with a view to producing a software package which would enable anyone to replicate a Masonic Organist. They produced a software package entitled “The Virtual Masonic Organist” which enables not only the playing of Masonic Music but also the musical accompaniment to those peculiar aspects our ceremonies i.e.1st 2nd 3rd Installation, (it also includes the Festive Board). The software comes as a complete package including all the associated music, and allows the user to personalise every aspect (both music and titles) according to personal taste, or Provincial variation.
