Mark your calendars. It's that time again. Jerry Adkins (Slick Lizard) will be hosting his annual cookout, this year on Sunday, September 24th 2017. Farm address/cookout site is: 142 Walker Circle Nauvoo, Alabama 35578 Plenty of folks on this site have been to his cookouts (and had a great time).
There are plenty of posts about previous year's cookouts. Nearest town to get hotel rooms would be Jasper, Alabama and the nearest airport, if anyone flies in, would be Birmingham, Alabama (about an hour to an hour and a half drive from there). Hope to see you all there. Mark your calendars.

Met some new friends and got to listen in on some really interesting conversations, especially one at the end between two very knowledgeable gentlemen from this site, wish I coulda heard all them 2 could come up with to say. Thanks for the good word Mr.
Mack, we really enjoyed meeting you and Mrs. Mack, as I've said before, with her there, probably the only chicken event I'll have to be the one pulling so we can leave. My wife says y'all really good folks and for as long as I've known her, she's only misjudged someone's character once. Also anyone traveling in from the west on I-22, there's a Holiday Inn on exit 26 (Twin) and a Hampton on 30 (Winfield), that'll put you 16-20 miles from the exit to the farm on the side you're coming from. Just might save you a little on $$ and time, but Jasper is a bigger city. LMAO.I don't know tim all that well or you for that matter. But I can say this, if I ask a question he tries to help as best he can not just for me but for any newbie asking a question.
It's respectable. You tend to spend most of your time calling folks out or being a smart ass. There is a reason folks call BamaOkie respectable and you don't hear many compliments about yourself. Just an observation from a thread browser.

I'm unclear what there is to gain by the majority of your responses in any threads you respond in though. I don't know tim all that well or you for that matter. But I can say this, if I ask a question he tries to help as best he can not just for me but for any newbie asking a question. It's respectable. Hello everybody. I have very good news that I'm sure everyone on here will appreciate knowing. Earlier today sat down with a couple good buddies of mine for dinner in nauvoo Alabama. One of them being mr. Jerry Adkins of slick lizard Gamefarm.
We got the talking and he will be having his annual slick lizard bbq on September 25th. So if you have been there before you already know what it's all about and how much of a good time it is. For the ones that have always been interested in coming but haven't had the chance to do so, then this is your chance to come down to nauvoo and have a good time with many cockers from the area and around the USA. I've been to his bbq for the past 2 years and it's a blast.
