By changing even a single letter that Prabhupada wrote they are effectively breaking off the disciple succession. And this is against dharma.
I can’t help but think why would Jayadvaita Swami make any sort of changes. Then again i also can’t help but to think about his name Jay”Advaita” Swami. I get a sense of mayavadi attack in all of these. Anyways i may be wrong. But the point is that you are doing a phenomenal work by putting out the original edition of Prabhupada’s books and thereby maintaining the line of disciplic succession of Gaudya Sampradaya.

This Jayadvaita is so puffed-up and outrageous that he boldly calls his edition of Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita As It Is “REVISED AND ENLARGED”. How impertinent for a disciple to dare to revise the books of his spiritual master. He has changed most of Srila Prabhupada’s translations, sometimes quite dramatically, and changed most of Prabhupada’s purports and in many cases significantly changed the philosophical points presented by Srila Prabhupada. He has watered down and even obliterated some points and concepts from Prabhupada’s original book and as you not he has introduced Mayavadi concepts also in some places. And you have to realize this is just the beginning.
Jayadviata’s vision for the BBT is that every time they print a book it must be different form the previous book. There must be revisions, there must be changes. So with this constant changing of Prabhupada’s books the books will be able to keep up with the constantly changing understanding and interpretation of the philosophy of Krishna consciousness in ISKCON. Dravida, one of the BBT editors, has already stated publicly that his motivation for some changes he made in Prabhupada’s Sri-Caitanya-caritamrta was “what Prabhupada says in the original book is different from the way we understand it today in ISKCON”. So they are openly and publicly ‘updating’ Prabhupada’s books so they are consistent with the new and updated understanding of Krishna consciousness in ISKCON They have no realization of the point you are making. They do not understand if they change the books then they are no longer Prabhupada’s books, they are no longer approved of an authorized by Srila Prabhupada. The changed books no longer carry any authority at all.
I sometimes give the example that if Jayadvaita got the US Constitution and made thousands and thousands of changes to it and, in his opinion, improved it. Then if he tried to get the US people and government to get them to replace the US constitution with his “Revised and Enlarged US constitution” then what would the people and the government tell him? They would tell him that he is insane. He does not understand the importance of such important, authoritative historical documents.
He does not understand that he has no authority to change the US constitution. And he does not realize that the only value his “New Revised and Enlarged US Constitution” has is to use it as toilet paper. No one would ever agree to publish or give any respect or value to Jayadvaita’s “New, Revised and Enlarged US Constitution”, similarly no one should ever consider publishing, reading or distributing his “New, Revised and Enlarged” Bhagavad-gita As It Is. But the point is that you are doing a phenomenal work by putting out the original edition of Prabhupada’s books and thereby maintaining the line of disciplic succession of Gaudya Sampradaya. The only reason for changing Srila Prabhupada’s books against his direct orders not to change them is to attack Srila Prabhupada and to try and destroy the authority of his books. Prabhupada’s books carry a unique level of authority and authenticity not matched by any other scriptures in the world.
Prabhupada’s books were printed in his physical presence under his personal guidance and personally read by and approved of by him. He gave all of his classes from them and except for a few very specific corrections and for corrections of obvious errors in the Sanskrit and English he gave no authorization whatsoever for changes. This Jayadvaita is so puffed-up and outrageous that he boldly calls his edition of Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita As It Is “REVISED AND ENLARGED”. How impertinent for a disciple to dare to revise the books of his spiritual master. He has changed most of Srila Prabhupada’s translations, sometimes quite dramatically, and changed most of Prabhupada’s purports and in many cases significantly changed the philosophical points presented by Srila Prabhupada. He has watered down and even obliterated some points and concepts from Prabhupada’s original book and as you not he has introduced Mayavadi concepts also in some places. And you have to realize this is just the beginning.
Jayadviata’s vision for the BBT is that every time they print a book it must be different form the previous book. There must be revisions, there must be changes. So with this constant changing of Prabhupada’s books the books will be able to keep up with the constantly changing understanding and interpretation of the philosophy of Krishna consciousness in ISKCON. Dravida, one of the BBT editors, has already stated publicly that his motivation for some changes he made in Prabhupada’s Sri-Caitanya-caritamrta was “what Prabhupada says in the original book is different from the way we understand it today in ISKCON”. So they are openly and publicly ‘updating’ Prabhupada’s books so they are consistent with the new and updated understanding of Krishna consciousness in ISKCON They have no realization of the point you are making.
They do not understand if they change the books then they are no longer Prabhupada’s books, they are no longer approved of an authorized by Srila Prabhupada. The changed books no longer carry any authority at all. I sometimes give the example that if Jayadvaita got the US Constitution and made thousands and thousands of changes to it and, in his opinion, improved it. Then if he tried to get the US people and government to get them to replace the US constitution with his “Revised and Enlarged US constitution” then what would the people and the government tell him? They would tell him that he is insane.
He does not understand the importance of such important, authoritative historical documents. He does not understand that he has no authority to change the US constitution. And he does not realize that the only value his “New Revised and Enlarged US Constitution” has is to use it as toilet paper. No one would ever agree to publish or give any respect or value to Jayadvaita’s “New, Revised and Enlarged US Constitution”, similarly no one should ever consider publishing, reading or distributing his “New, Revised and Enlarged” Bhagavad-gita As It Is. It is a direct attack on Srila Prabhupada.

Since then I have been chanting Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, reading and distributing Srila Prabhupada's books and preaching as much as I can. That's my life and full-time occupation now really. I like it more than anything I've ever experienced before. Srila Prabhupada's books are so amazing. Even after reading them all many times they're still fresh and new. They are truly transcendental!
